Part-Time Nanny — Chico
6–12 Month Placement | Two School-Aged Children - Family hopes to have a one-year commitment with a great match!
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week (afternoons + flexible weekday hours, exact schedule to be discussed)
Children: 5-year-old and 8-year-old
Pets: One small (20 lb) dog
Pay Range: $20–24/hour DOE
Start Date: As soon as a strong match is found
Anticipated Length: Ongoing, with potential for summer schedule adjustments
About the Role
A Chico family is seeking a playful, attentive, and engaging caregiver for their two children. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being active with kids and can balance structure with fun.
The children are communicative, playful, and may be neurodivergent, so the family is looking for someone patient, adaptable, and tuned in to individual needs.
The mother has some mobility limitations, so this role also includes being an extra set of hands to help keep things running smoothly for the children day to day.
The family values connection, creativity, and caregivers who genuinely enjoy spending time with children.
Responsibilities
• Pick-up and drop-off from homeschool programs
• Transportation to extracurricular activities (especially during summer months)
• Engaging children in active, outdoor play (parks, playgrounds, movement-based activities)
• Light meal prep for children
• Light tidying related to children
Household Expectations
• Prioritize outdoor time and active play
• Encourage creativity, playfulness, and connection
• Maintain attentiveness and awareness, especially during transitions and outings
• Comfortable around a small dog
• Minimal phone use during work hours
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
• Experience with school-aged children
• Comfortable supporting neurodivergent children (or open and willing to learn)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Patient, playful, and engaging
• Able to take initiative while maintaining safety and structure
• Comfortable supporting a household where a parent may have limited mobility
Compensation & Structure
• $20–24/hour depending on experience
• Approximately 20 hours per week
• Ongoing placement with potential for increased hours seasonally
