About the Role
Two visiting mothers are seeking a warm, experienced infant caregiver to provide evening support while they attend a local event in Chico. This role is ideal for someone with a calm, reassuring presence — similar to a night nanny or postpartum doula.
Care will take place in an Airbnb shared by two families. The goal is to support both infants through bedtime and into the evening while parents are out.
One infant (11 months) is typically a strong sleeper, while the younger infant (4 months) may wake and require feeding, soothing, and attentive care throughout the evening.
The family is looking for someone who feels confident, nurturing, and experienced with infant sleep and nighttime care routines.
Responsibilities
• Supporting bedtime routines for both infants
• Monitoring infants while sleeping
• Bottle feeding and soothing the younger infant as needed
• Maintaining a calm, safe, and responsive environment
• Light tidying related to infant care
Household Expectations
• Maintain a calm, quiet evening environment
• Strong attentiveness to infant safety and sleep practices
• Comfortable caring for two infants simultaneously
• Minimal phone use during care hours (aside from necessary communication)
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
• Strong newborn and infant experience (night nanny or postpartum doula experience preferred)
• Confident supporting infant sleep and overnight-style care
• CPR and infant first aid certified
• Calm, nurturing, and highly attentive
• Comfortable working in a shared Airbnb setting
Compensation & Structure
• Approximately $35/hour for the care of both children
• One-time placement (April 17), with potential additional hours on April 18
• Evening shift (bedtime through ~midnight)
• Payment coordinated directly with family
